Let me introduce myself, my name is Carol J. McFarland. I have a BS degree in Industrial Arts Education (I was a "shop teacher" for 3 years), with my emphasis being in the graphic arts. I was introduced to calligraphy in an art class in college, and have improved on my own by practice, practice, practice. I worked as a typesetter in a print shop until the birth of our first son in 1988. Now I am a wife, a homeschooling mother of eight children, and in my "spare" time, I have a home business doing calligraphy and crafts.

Our products include Note Cards and Greeting Cards displaying some of the Scripture in calligraphy from previous calendars. To celebrate the birth of our twins, Renée and Rebekah, we expanded the product line to also include candy announcement "Wrap-Ups." We've had fun using them ourselves to give out for baptisms, our kids' birthdays and sports team snacks! You can view some of my custom calligraphy on the Plaques page.

My main product is the yearly Precious Memories Calligraphy Calendar, which opens to display a Scripture verse in calligraphy with space for your own 4"x6" photograph of children or loved ones, and a monthly calendar for activities. I have the year 2004 calendar's Bible verses, available now, so you can choose the best photographs for each month's Bible verse.

I started making the Precious Memories Calligraphy Calendars for my family in 1985, the year after my sister had her first children, twin girls! (We were thrilled and amazed in 2000 to find out we, too, were having fraternal twin girls! The twin cousins are 16 years apart.) I used the precious photographic memories of her children and an appropriate Bible verse in calligraphy on the monthly calendar page. My friends encouraged me to make the calendars available for them to use, too. They have enjoyed giving these as Christmas gifts to grandparents, other family members, friends and, of course, they keep one for themselves. It is such a unique and personal gift, it is one of the most cherished gifts they receive.

If you are currently using photo album or scrapbooking techniques, you can add your own creative touch to the calendar pages using mats, borders, or stickers and your imagination! Some examples are on the Calendar Pages.
